Overdraft Reserve is a service for checking accounts in good standing. Overdraft Reserve may cover overdrafts up to $300 for personal regular checking accounts and up to $500 for interest earning personal checking accounts. If you use Overdraft Reserve, the bank will deduct its normal overdraft charge per item.
Avoid the embarrassment of an overdraft with Overdraft Reserve®.
Our Overdraft Reserve service is a purely discretionary privilege that we may provide to you from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by us at any time without prior notice or reason or cause. Our normal fee for non-sufficient funds (NSF) or overdraft (OD) items is currently $29.77 per NSF or OD item, as set forth in our fee schedule, and will be charged for each transaction initiated for payment from your checking account that does not have sufficient funds. Transactions that may cause or create overdrafts include checks; in-person (teller) withdrawal; ACH or automatic payments. In addition, if you sign the Opt-in authorization, you may be able to access your overdraft checking limit through an ATM or debit card purchase. The amount of any overdrafts including our fees that you owe us shall be due and payable immediately. We may refuse to pay an overdraft for you at any time, even though your account is in good standing and even though we may have previously paid overdrafts for you.
Savings Overdraft Protection transfers funds automatically from your savings or money market account to your checking account when it has a negative balance. Transfers are limited - refer to account disclosure.
To opt-in for either of these services, contact your local branch.
American State Bank also offers customers these additional services. Fees apply, but may be waived or reduced based on the type of checking account you have. View the checking product table to see a list of services included with each type of account.
